Susan G. Komen Ride for the Cure-Aspen Sept. 6th
This Saturday is the 5th Annual Susan G. Komen Ride for the Cure in Aspen. Locals and local-celebrities alike have signed up for this great event to help raise money for a great cause. Early in the morning, the die-hards will begin their 100-mile ride that starts in Aspen and travels up to the Maroon Bells, Ashcroft, Snowmass Village, the Monastery and the Deaf School in Old Snowmass, and ends back in Aspen.
All of the participants have different reasons for signing up, but one reason touches everyone. According to www.komenaspen.org, 1 in 8 women are affected by breast cancer. That means, statistically, every softball team, every basketball game, every soccer team has a team member affected by this terrible disease.
This exciting annual event is one of many ways that the Susan G. Komen Foundation receives donations for this great cause. Two Joshua & Co. brokers are participating in this wonderful event. Please come cheer them on in the ride!
