Newest Hotels, Restaurants & Shops
As far as new hotels, shops and restaurants go in Aspen & Snowmass, there is a LOT to talk about:

Ajax Tavern is just steps away from the Residences at The Little Nell
Hotels/Fractional Properties
- Limelight Lodge-355 S. Monarch Street: The completely reconstructed Aspen landmark is open for business. This moderately priced hotel offers 14 different room and suite types, right in the heart of downtown next to Wagner Park.
- Residences at Little Nell-501 Dean Avenue: One of the most luxurious fractional properties in the world will soon open at one of the world’s best locations: the base of Aspen Mountain. Owners and renters of the 26 Aspen mountain slopeside residences will enjoy ski-in/ski-out access, spectacular views & five-star service unique to the Little Nell Hotel in Aspen.
Restaurants
- Ajax Tavern-685 E. Durant Avenue: One of the most well-known restaurants in Aspen has gotten a $1M makeover but has kept Aspenite’s favorite foods on the menu (who would dream of getting rid of truffle fries?) A new outside bar will only add to the apres-ski scene at the base of the gondola.
- Buenos Aires Fusion-308 S. Hunter Street: Aspen’s best happy hour can be found at Blue Maize’s old spot: a glass of beer or wine and empanada for only $7.50. This restaurant offers a wide variety of flavors from Argentina for lunch and dinner.
- Il Mulino- New York’s famed italian restaurant is opening late March in the Residences at Little Nell and will offer rustic yet refined cuisine and a wonderful apres-ski deck.
- Sneaky’s Tavern-110 Carriage Way: A new bistro at the bustling Snowmass Base Village serves lunch, apres-ski fare, dinner and of course a wide selection of microbrews and wine. Aspen/Snowmass season-pass holders can enjoy $3 draft beers all season long.
- Sam’s Smokehouse- The highly anticipated mountaintop restaurant in Snowmass offers sweeping views of Garret’s Peak and Mount Daly. Take a break from skiing and sip an espresso, eat a sandwich or chow down on the full barbeque menu.
Shops
- Berko Studio at Frames and Finds – 616 W. Main Street: Berko Photography has been providing iconic photos of Aspen since 1949. Shoppers can now browse this gallery for Berko prints and one-of-a-kind vintage and contemporary art.
- Corky Woods - 261 Robinson Street (Basalt’s Willits Town Center): America’s first green department store, Corky Woods features a compelling offering of all things green, from chic green apparel, non-toxic cosmetics and body products to home furnishings, house wares, and building materials to create a healthy home environment. Although this store is in Basalt (not Aspen or Snowmass), it’s too cool not to mention.

Jen,
Both the Hotel Aspen & Molly Gibson Lodge have been substantially renovated this past off-season, would be a nice item to include in your blog. I’m happy to send you pictures, if you email, we’re in the process of updating our website over the next two weeks. Additionally, happy to arrange a tour of the properties if you’d like to see.
Thanks and love your blog.
BTW: Cache Cache bar was redone and is super cool, your clients probably love that spot.

Dear Molly Gibson Lodge worker,
Thanks so much for the information! I will definitely write a blog on Molly Gibson Lodge & please email me photos. One of my first jobs in Aspen years ago was at the Molly Gibson. I am sure Dave Tash is still the manager so please tell him hello. You are right about Cache Cache – the remodeled space and expanded bar is excellent.
Please continue to check my blog for up-to-the-minute information on real estate and happenings in Aspen.
