Summit For Life–Aspen Mountain

This December 6th will be the 3rd Summit for Life fundraising event on Aspen Mountain. Hundreds will go UP, not down, Aspen Mountain this NIGHT, not day, to raise awareness for tissue and organ donation.

Summit For Life is the main event to raise money for the Chris Klug Foundation (CKF) in the Roaring Fork Valley. Chris Klug, famous for receiving an Olympic medal in 2002 for Snowboarding, began this foundation to increase awareness for organ and tissue donation after receiving a liver transplant in 2000.  His personal success story has been shared all over the world.

The Summit for Life event consists of the 2.5-mile race up Aspen Mountain with people using headlamps and skis, snowshoes, and stabil-icers to reach the sun-deck for a great after party. If people want to participate, but hiking up a snowy mountain isn’t their idea of fun, they can Ride for Life–purchase a ticket to ride the Silver Queen Gondola that night to join the party on top of the mountain.

J. Crew At-The-Mountain, the newest clothing store in Aspen, is doing it’s part to help this great cause. If shoppers mention the Summit for Life December 5th through December 7th, J. Crew will give a 10% discoun off the total bill as well as donate 10% of the purchase to CKF. Don’t forget to mention Summit for Life!

Summit for Life is one of many fundraising events that happen throughout the year to benefit a non-profit agency in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley. Aspen is known for its very generous community, along with some of the most luxurious real estate in the US.
