Off-Season in Aspen–Calendar of Events
Like many resort destinations, Aspen and Snowmass Village experience a lull between seasons. Many locals revere the “off-season” because the line at the grocery store is shorter, no reservations are needed at the restaurants, and the whole town is wonderfully quiet.
This doesn’t mean that nothing is happening, though. Below is a calendar of events to enjoy this off-season in Aspen and Snowmass Village.
September
12th 12 Hours of Snowmass mountain bike race (Fanny Hill)
12th Oktoberfest in Aspen (St. Mary’s Catholic Church)
17-20th 42nd Annual Ruggerfest (Wagner and Rio Grande Parks)
24th Aspen Snow Film Celebration NESPA Video and Art Awards (Wheeler Opera House)
26th-31st Annual Vasque Golden Leaf Half-Marathon (Snowmass Village to Aspen)
October
September 30-October 4th Aspen Film Fest
7-12th John Denver Week
Keep in mind autumn is a great time to be in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The aspen leaves have already started to change in the higher elevations, and the cool days are perfect for hiking and biking.
