A substantial sale occurred last week that allowed the Aspen real estate community to end 2009 on a positive note. Located in the West End on Bleeker Street, this home is a 2 minute walk to Aspen’s Central Core shopping area.  The house and adjoining lot sold for a strong price of $14.1 million, or $10.1 million for the house and $3.5 million for the adjoining 6,000 sq. ft. lot.

Originally built at the turn of the 20th century, this Victorian had been completely remodeled and expanded to 6,112 sq. ft., including a large lower level and 1-car garage. The designer, Chris Church, finished the home with reclaimed white oak flooring and slab honed marble counter tops.

The sale marked the end of 2009 as the 6th residential sale that was over $2,000 per square foot, hopefully a positive indicator for 2010.
