Aspen’s New York Pizza to Open Near Basalt

New Pizza Shop

New York Pizza, Aspen’s most popular pizza restaurant, is opening a second location in the Roaring Fork Valley.  The pizza shop has signed a lease for a space at the Orchard Plaza shopping center in El Jebel, formerly occupied by Subway and just steps away from City Market and Movieland theater.

Aspen’s New York Pizza was launched in 1993 by co-owners Earl Rodgers and Kevin Jones.  Located at 409 E. Hyman on the second floor of the Hyman Avenue Mall, the eatery offers pizza by the slice, subs, salads, beer & wine and attracts people for lunch, apres-ski snacks and late-night crowds.  Rodgers says that the El Jebel location “will be a bit more upscale and for kids”.  He added that they may have a few menu upgrades as well and will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

New York Pizza will offer delivery service in the Basalt area which is a huge bonus for Basalt area residents, as very few pizza places deliver.
