Jazz Aspen Snowmass for 2010!

Jazz Aspen Snowmass is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and the performances will be ones to remember! As in the previous years, the festival is celebrated over two weekends in two locations–Aspen and Snowmass Village. But this year, the celebration includes a special performance on July 3rd by Natalie Cole.

The festival starts Friday, June 25th.  Jazz Aspen Snowmass will host Harry Connick, Jr. & Orchestra. Connick will perform songs from his newest release “Your Songs”, which include “Mona Lisa”, “Smile” and other familiar favorites.

The June festival finishes with Pink Martini on Sunday, June 27th. Pink Martini is a 14-piece band  and it incorporates a number of different styles including lounge, classical and jazz.

The performances for the Labor Day festival have not been announced yet, except for one. Wilco will perform Friday, September 3rd and will be its exclusive Colorado performance for the summer. Wilco is famous for its alternative-country sound and has been showcased in commercials from Volkswagen.

Tickets go on sale starting February 12th, and can be purchased at www.jazzaspen.org or by calling 866-JAS-TIXX (527-8499). The proceeds go to music education in Aspen, Roaring Fork Valley, and Colorado.
