Aspen Skiing Company announced that they will keep the lifts running on Aspen Mountain for the weekends of April 17th-18th and April 24th-25th. Aspen locals and visitors alike are quite excited!
The regular season closes April 11th for both Aspen and Snowmass Mountain. The final day of the season for Buttermilk and Aspen Highlands is April 4th. (more…)

The City of Aspen has been seen as an opponent to development in recent years, with more rules and regulations for building and less exceptions to those rules. As reported in The Aspen Times this week, Aspen City Council unanimously voted for a new option to help builders comply with the affordable housing regulation, which will hopefully spur new development in the City of Aspen. It’s official – Whole Foods Market has signed a new agreement to open a store at Willits Town Center in Basalt. No details have been released yet regarding the store size, the terms of the agreement and the projected opening date, although a source says more details are expected to be released this week. March 4th–Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad
This troop has included Aspen in their tour of the Colorado Rockies after amusing audiences in New York City, Philadelphia and Chicago. In a fast-paced vaudeville presentation, the “broads” will highlight the funnier side of Judaism.
March 5th-Chick Corea
Piano soloist will be live in concert for this night only. Corea will showcase his 40+ years in the music industry–it will be one not to miss.
March 9th–One Night of Queen
Freddie Mercury and Queen come back to life through this tribute band, One Night of Queen. Coming back for a second round, One Night of Queen will rock the Wheeler Opera House.
March 14th–Great Big Sea
Making their Aspen debut, this group of Canadian rockers have been recording music since 1995. Mixing their Newfoundland roots with the rock of today, Great Big Sea is a folk group that will surely be an Aspen favorite.
