ResortQuest to be sold to Wyndham Worldwide

The sale of ResortQuest, including the management for the Inn at Aspen, is expected to close in the third quarter of this year for $56 million. With this acquisition, Wyndham Worldwide will add ResortQuest to its 30 European rental brands, making it the world’s largest full-service vacation rental business. (more…)

St. Regis Aspen Sold by Starwood Hotels for $70 Million

As of September 29th, 2010, the St. Regis Aspen was sold to a Delaware corporation for $70 million, but the management of the property will be with Starwood Hotels for another 50 years. (more…)

Golden Leaf Half Marathon

Nearly 1,000 runners from throughout the country will participate in the Vasque Golden Leaf Half Marathon this Saturday, September 25th in Aspen.  Selected by Trail Runner Magazine as one of America’s 14 most scenic races, the Golden Leaf traverses from Snowmass Village to the heart of Aspen via the Government Trail, at the peak of Aspen’s fall colors.  The route gains 970 feet and peaks at 9,400 feet in elevation.  The race begins in Snowmass Village at 8:30am and will finish at Koch Park in Aspen.

Come on out to Koch Park in Aspen and help cheer the runners across the finish line!

Houston to Aspen–DIRECT

United Airlines will offer nonstop flights between Aspen, Colorado and Houston starting in January 2011. Direct service has not been available to Aspen from a major Texas market since 1998, when Lone Star Airlines ended its service.

“This is very exciting news,” said Bill Tomcich, president of Stay Aspen Snowmass, a central reservations firm. “It will facilitate brilliant connections from Texas, Florida and all across South America. “The Brazilians are going to love this.” (more…)
