New Joshua & Co. Downtown Aspen Office

Joshua & Co. has opened it’s new downtown Aspen location at 630 East Hyman Avenue (corner of Spring & Hyman).  This is our second Aspen location, with our original office still located at 300 South Hunter, and additonal offices located in Snowmass Village and Aspen Highlands.

Snowmass Village Viceroy Buyers Entitled to Cancel Purchase Contracts

A ruling for a court case filed in 2009 has 62 Snowmass Village condo-hotel owners walking away from their purchase contracts of the Viceroy Snowmass project with full refunds. Although the defendents could appeal to overturn the ruling, this means a loss of $13.7 million in revenue seen by the project.  But it could also mean more rentable rooms in the hotel’s current inventory. St. Regis Aspen Sold by Starwood Hotels for $70 Million

As of September 29th, 2010, the St. Regis Aspen was sold to a Delaware corporation for $70 million, but the management of the property will be with Starwood Hotels for another 50 years. (more…)

El Jebel Development Sold for $16.5 Million

The Roaring Fork Valley was not immune to the recent economic strife that has been felt throughout the country, but recent activity gives hope that the bottom has been reached mid-valley.  Shadowrock Townhomes, a townhouse project located mid-valley in El Jebel, was recently sold to another developer with high hopes of completing the project in the next 40 months. Limelight Lodge Sold to Aspen Skiing Co.

LimelightLodgeUPDATE:  the sale of the Limelight Lodge was official on April 13th, 2010. Aspen Skiing Co. purchased the property and hotel operations for $37.9 million. Retaining 97% of the employees who wished to stay, Aspen Skiing Co. also hired a new General Manager. Richard Stettner from Denver will be taking over the leadership position for this property.

In addition, two of the three penthouses are under contract and are scheduled to close by June, 2010.

Lodge at Aspen Mountain Sold for $15 Million

A new ownership group purchased the Lodge at Aspen Mountain last week for $15 million, according to Pitkin County public records. The proposed hotel site received a lot of attention over the past five years, along with the revitalization of the Lift 1-A area of Aspen. (more…)

Aspen has a new choice for Affordable Housing Compliance

The City of Aspen has been seen as an opponent to development in recent years, with more rules and regulations for building and less exceptions to those rules. As reported in The Aspen Times this week, Aspen City Council unanimously voted for a new option to help builders comply with the affordable housing regulation, which will hopefully spur new development in the City of Aspen. Whole Foods Signs New Deal in Basalt

It’s official – Whole Foods Market has signed a new agreement to open a store at Willits Town Center in Basalt.  No details have been released yet regarding the store size, the terms of the agreement and the projected opening date, although a source says more details are expected to be released this week.   (more…)
