As a member of Aspen Art Museum Contemporaries group, I had the opportunity to tour local artist Jody Guralnick’s home and studio yesterday evening. Her beautiful home in the woods on the South side of the West End is filled with her paintings, sculptures and one-of-a-kind line of dishes, available for purchase on her Dish Studio website. (more…)

Nearly 1,000 runners from throughout the country will participate in the Vasque Golden Leaf Half Marathon this Saturday, September 25th in Aspen. Selected by Trail Runner Magazine as one of America’s 14 most scenic races, the Golden Leaf traverses from Snowmass Village to the heart of Aspen via the Government Trail, at the peak of Aspen’s fall colors. The route gains 970 feet and peaks at 9,400 feet in elevation. The race begins in Snowmass Village at 8:30am and will finish at Koch Park in Aspen.
Come on out to Koch Park in Aspen and help cheer the runners across the finish line!

I’m excited for Slow Food Western Slope’s 2nd Annual Food Farm Film & Wine Festival Aug 14th and 15th in Paonia. It should be a gorgeous time to tour the wineries, see great films and eat an amazing meal cooked by Dava Parr of Fresh & Wyld and Jim Butchart of Aspen Ski Co (formerly head chef at Aspen’s Ajax Tavern). Fanny Hill on Snowmass Mountain is THE place to be for great music every Thursday evening, July 1st through August 19th. Throughout the summer there is a wide range of music to enjoy, including reggae, latin, blues, soul, funk, country and zydeco. Bring your blanket, picnic basket and lawn chair and listen to some great music while taking in the breathtaking mountain views. Music starts at 6:15 PM. (more…)

The 28th Annual Food & Wine Magazine Classic is scheduled for June 18th-20th this year, and Stay Aspen Snowmass is enticing summer visitors with a free night’s accommodation plus a free activity if they book before May 15th. March 4th–Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad
This troop has included Aspen in their tour of the Colorado Rockies after amusing audiences in New York City, Philadelphia and Chicago. In a fast-paced vaudeville presentation, the “broads” will highlight the funnier side of Judaism.
March 5th-Chick Corea
Piano soloist will be live in concert for this night only. Corea will showcase his 40+ years in the music industry–it will be one not to miss.
March 9th–One Night of Queen
Freddie Mercury and Queen come back to life through this tribute band, One Night of Queen. Coming back for a second round, One Night of Queen will rock the Wheeler Opera House.
March 14th–Great Big Sea
Making their Aspen debut, this group of Canadian rockers have been recording music since 1995. Mixing their Newfoundland roots with the rock of today, Great Big Sea is a folk group that will surely be an Aspen favorite.
